Area Attractions
During your visit, check out the Delta Cultural Center in Helena-West Helena Arkansas, a state museum that has exhibits detailing the natural and human history of the Delta region, including the 1863 Battle of Helena, and Helena-West Helena's role in the development of blues music. Also take time to take a tour of Helena-West Helena's collection of antebellum and Victorian homes and two national scenic byways; the Great River Road and Crowley's Ridge Parkway.
The Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale Mississippi is a must see for any blues fan. Housed in the newly renovated Yazoo and Mississippi River Valley Railroad Depot, the museum presents the history of the Blues through photos, written word, artifacts and instruments. Clarksdale is also the childhood home of America's most performed playwright," Tom Tennessee" Williams. Take a walking tour of the historic neighborhood that greatly influenced the characters and events that are well known in Williams' plays and screen adaptations.
